How to keep your jewelry shining for years
Share
Anti-tarnish jewelry is made to last, but a little care goes a long way. These five habits will keep your favourite pieces looking brand new.
1. Jewelry goes on last
Perfume, hairspray and lotions contain alcohols and oils that dull plating over time. Get ready first, let everything dry, then add your jewelry.
2. Take it off for chores and chlorine
Our stainless steel pieces are waterproof, but cleaning products and pool chlorine are harsh on any finish. Remove rings and bracelets before washing dishes or swimming.
3. Wipe after wearing
A quick wipe with a soft, dry cloth removes sweat and makeup before they settle. Avoid tissues and paper towels, which can scratch.
4. Store pieces separately
Chains tangle and stones scratch each other. Keep each piece in its own pouch or in the gift box it arrived in.
5. Give it a gentle deep clean
Once a month, dip a cotton pad in lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap, wipe gently, rinse and dry fully. Never soak pieces with pearls or glued stones.
